We will collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:
- You – We will collect personal information from you via the online credit application form. This will include your name, address, social security number, etc. When you enter your social security number on our form we encrypt it using secure socket layer technology (SSL) to protect it.
- Consumer reporting agencies (Credit bureaus) – When you submit your credit application, we request your authorization to receive credit bureau information on you. That authorization gives our affiliated car dealer (LaFayette Ford) permission to request and receive a copy of your credit report.
We then use the collected information to assist in securing financing for a motor vehicle from one of our lending partners. Your information will be shared with these lenders only to obtain credit approval on your behalf.
We do NOT pass on any of your personal information to any other third parties, other than those outlined above.
We maintain strict physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with all state and federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information.
We use this information to evaluate your credit application, and to locate a lender who can finance your auto loan. Our affiliated car dealer, LaFayette Ford, will then contact you to set up a time for reviewing your options with you.
By filling out the credit application and checking the ‘Yes, I authorize you to check my credit report,” box, you are giving LaFayette Ford permission to run a credit check on your behalf, and discuss this information with various lending institutions.
We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
